Only 525 top-tier merit shop construction contractors in the United States received this credential in 2023, demonstrating standards in safety, quality, and community service.

To achieve the AQC credential, each company must commit to following health and safety standards, meeting Gold, Platinum, or Diamond levels in the STEP Safety Management System. This program, established in 1989, provides a thorough, no-cost framework for tracking and improving safety data, with KE achieving incident rates nearly six times safer than the industry average as reported by the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
