Knobelsdorff Energy Achieves ISO 9001 Certification to Support Large-Scale Energy Projects

[Goodhue, MN] — March 3, 2026 — Knobelsdorff (KE) announces that its Energy Division has achieved ISO 9001 certification, reflecting the systems behind how the division delivers complex energy projects across the country. 

KE began performing energy work in 2016 with smaller renewable installations. Since then, the division has expanded into large megawatt sites, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and utility-scale solar projects. As project size and technical demands increased, the division invested in building a more defined framework around training, inspections, documentation and vendor oversight. ISO 9001 certification formalizes that framework. 

Following a successful third-party audit by Husk Registrars and approval by the ISO certification board, the Energy Division now operates under an internationally recognized quality management standard. The certification is valid through 2028 and includes routine surveillance audits throughout the three-year cycle to ensure continued compliance. 

For customers, ISO 9001 provides assurance that projects are executed within a documented and repeatable system. Expectations are clearly defined, team members are trained against established standards and inspections and corrective actions are tracked from start to finish. This level of visibility supports stronger communication and more predictable outcomes on technically demanding builds.
